PRODUCT TYPE
FIRECUT F-100 contains asbestos-free inorganic components which is suitable for interior and exterior uses such as Portland cement, vermiculite and highly chemical-resistant special fiber. Besides the characteristics of excellent toughness and steel properties, F-100 can also resist to the abruptly-increased temperature and polluted environment. It is the best fire protection coating with excellent weather-ability and fire protection for petrochemical plants and general industrial facility.
CHARACTERISTICS
1.Excellent Physical Properties
Due to the existence of highly impact-resistant fiber, FIRECUT F-100 is so tough that no cracking can be observed after suffering a heavy impact. Even after it has been burned in the fire for 3 hours, the burned coating still maintains strong physical properties and is not chalked or softened. This assures its fire protection capability and its resistance to the wind-storm occurred in the fire accidents.
2.Excellent Weather-ability
With the existence of highly chemical-resistant components, FIRECUT F-100 can maintain its excellent physical properties and fire protection capability even though it is exposed to exterior polluted environments for a long period of time. FIRECUT F-100 is certified by the U.S. Underwriters Laboratory Inc. according to UL 1709 “Rapid Rise Fire Test of Protection Materials for Structural Steel, and Simulated Environmental Exposures”. It has passed all of those tests which are simulated as in the environment for exterior petrochemical industrial atmosphere, such as aging; high humidity; industrial atmosphere (CO2 & SO2 air mixture); salt spray; and combination of wet, freeze and dry cycling exposures, etc. And it is thus registered in the UL Fire-Resistance Directory.
3.No asbestos Content
The test done by Union Chemical Laboratory of Industrial Technology Research Institute shows that FIRECUT F-100 does not contain any asbestos at all. F-100 is also tested by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. according to ASTM E84 (UL 723), the smoke development is zero.
4.Easy Application, Low Pollution
After being mixed with water and stirred well, FIRECUT F-100 can be sprayed or toweled. It has good fluidity and optimum viscosity. On top of the toweled surfaces, different types of protective and decorative topcoats can be applied (not compulsory, topcoat can be added if necessary, because there is no application of any protective or decorative topcoat system in the simulated tests according to UL1709 exterior simulated environmental tests for FIRECUT F-100). After the application of topcoat system, it does not only provide a pleasant and colorful appearance, but also protect the F-100 from the direct contact with atmospheric pollution, thus prolong the warranty period.
5.Best Quality, Stable Supply
F-100 cementitious mixture is certified and audited by Germany TUV CERT on Design/R&D, Production, Application, and Sales/Service to comply with the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality System. Together with 『Follow-up
Service』by U.S. Underwriters Laboratories Inc. and the annual production of millions of bags by automated
production facilities, the stability of quality and quantity supply of F-100 is definitely more superior to that of the domestic and overseas products.
6.UL GREENGUARD Certification
GREENGUARD Certification is part of UL Environment, a business unit of UL (Underwriters Laboratories).
GREENGUARD Gold Certification (formerly known as GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification) offers stricter certification criteria, considers safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities. It is referenced by both The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System.

7.Fire Testing Certification
(1)It passed the test of UL 1709 Rapid Rise Fire Test of Protection Materials for Structural Steel by U.S. Underwriters Laboratories Inc., and possessed the fire protection capability up to 4 hours.
It also passed the test of UL 1709 Simulated Environmental Exposures, and is registered as 『Design No. XR 713 』 and categorized as Fire Protection Coating for Exterior Structural Steel in Petrochemical Industry in the Fire Resistance Directory which is published annually.
(2)F-100 also passed 2 hour-rating for a total of two JET FIRE TESTS in accordance with ISO 22899-1: 2007 by DNV GL Oil & Gas Spadeadam Testing and Research.
The test specimen, a structural jet fire box, was manufactured from the FIRECUT F-100 cementitious coating applied to a dry film thickness of 41.40 ± 2.107 mm directly onto the substrate wall. The classification of the test specimen is therefore: JF / Structural Steel / 400℃ / (126 minutes : 19 seconds).
The test specimen, a jet fire tubular, has been constructed from a 12” Sch 40 tubular (323.9 mm O.D x10.3 mm thickness), withFIRECUT F-100 cementitious coating applied to a dry film thickness of 43.46 ±2.0 mm directly onto the substrate wall. The classification of the test specimen is therefore: JF / 12” Sch
40 / 400℃ / (144 minutes : 21 seconds).
(3)F-100 also passed the test of UL 263 Fire Test of Building Construction and Materials by U.S. Underwriters Laboratories Inc. SUITABLE COATINGS
FIRECUT F-100 (Exterior) Spray-applied Fire Resistive Material was tested in U.S. Underwriters Laboratories Inc. according to UL 1709 Simulated Environmental Exposures Tests without any additional application of weather- resistant and long-lasting protective coating and it directly passed such simulated exterior industrial environmental tests.
1.Because the fire protection coating belongs to porous coating and is always exposed to exterior environment, the addition of the acidic & alkali- resistant, water-resistant and chemical resistant coating system with good adhesion will increase the longevity and overall appearance of the fire protection coating.
2.Suggested System: Apply the adhesion primer (1 coat) and weather-resistant topcoats (2 coats).
(1)Type:
(a)Adhesion Primer: 2-component clear primer based on Epoxy Resin and special hardener. Such adhesion primer can permeate into the cement mixtures very easily, and form a waterproofing and alkali-resistant coating and thus increase the adhesion capability between fire protection and weather-resistant topcoat.
(b)Weather-resistant Topcoat: 2-component color topcoat based on Acrylic resin and Polyol Resin copolymer and non-yellowing Poly-isocyanate hardener.
(2)Product No.:
(a)Adhesion Primer: No.1073 Epoxy Clear Cement Primer produced by Yung Chi Paint & Varnish MFG. Co. Ltd.
(b)Weather-Resistant Topcoat: UP-450 or UP-04 Polyurethane Coating produced by Yung Chi Paint & Varnish MFG. Co. Ltd.
(3)Total Dry Film Thickness:
(a)Adhesion Primer: Apply a coat of Clear Cement Primer, and the dry film thickness is about 15 ~ 25μm.
(b)Weather-resistant Topcoat: Apply two coats of colored Polyurethane Coating, the dry film thickness
should be 120 ~ 130μm.
(4)Description of Application :
(a)Adhesion Primer: Before the application of No.1073 Epoxy Clear Cement Primer, F-100 must be checked if the coating has reached the curing equilibrium (water absorption rate below 15%) in order to avoid adhesion problem if the water absorption is too high. One coat of primer is required by means of brush, roller or spray application method.
(b)Weather-resistant Topcoat: 24 hours after the application of adhesion primer, application of UP-450 or UP-04(N-Type) Polyurethane Coating can be made. Two coats of topcoats are required by means of brush, roller or spray application method.
